Plaza Machado
Plaza Machado is the oldest plaza in Mazatlan. There are many sidewalk cafes, galleries and bars that feature some of the finest 19th century architecture in town. On weekends and evenings this place really comes alive with local musicians, cultural events and artisan bazaars-everyone is having a good time! At the southeast corner of the plaza you will find the Angela Peralta Theater. This place is awesome and hosts some of the best events in Mexico. Completely rebuilt in 1992 in European opera house style, this theater is the only one of its kind on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. If you"re looking for a taste of Mazatlan, a good time or to meet some local Mazatlecos, spend Friday or Saturday evening near Plaza Muchado.
